California Chapter (CCFMCA) is the fourth oldest chapter within FMCA and the first chapter west of the Mississippi. We were chartered in June 1965 by a group of 36 motor homes. At one point our Chapter had over 1,600 motor homes. Over the years a lot has changed and there are now over 52 chapters in California alone. We celebrated our 50th year in 2015.
We usually have five to seven rallies a year and they are typically held on the third week-end of the month. Our rallies start on Thursday and end on Sunday. We go as far south as San Diego and north as far as Buellton. Our average attendance is about 20 coaches.
CCFMCA has a membership made up of wonderful people. These are the folks that you love to sit around a campfire and swap stories with, or enjoy an early morning cup of coffee. These are the kind of people that makeup our Chapter, and this is where lifelong friendships occur. We invite you to join us.
The rallies planned for 2023 are listed under the RALLIES tab at the top of the website.
Our Spot-Lite Newsletters are listed under the DOCUMENTS tab on this website.

Our activities are meant to provide our members with opportunities to meet and network with friends and to make new friendships. At our rallies we have some planned meals, afternoon and nighttime games but also plenty of down time to meet with others and share experiences.
2021 ROBERT L. RICHTER AWARD RECIPIENT
On July 10, 2021, during the Annual Membership Meeting in Gillette, Wyoming, FMCA national president Jon Walker recognized the 2021 recipient of the Robert L. Richter Award: John Seguin, F455062, from the California Chapter FMCA.
FMCA’s Executive Board voted to present him with the award. Bob Richter was FMCA’s founder and first editor of Family Motor Coaching (now Family RVing) magazine. The award recognizes an individual who is responsible for chapter newsletters and publications, and/or communications to and about an FMCA chapter.
John volunteered to become editor of the California Chapter’s “Spot-Lite” newsletter, which has been published for more than 50 years, and gave it a face-lift. He redesigned the layout, including new artwork and other features, and incorporated additional articles and columns. He uses interviews, social media, and the internet to research content. In addition to producing the newsletter, John assists with special mailings sent out to chapter members. (FMCA “Family RVing Magazine”, SEPTEMBER 2021 VOL. 58 NO. 9 )
